What's Up with Me: March 20th Want to Scribbl(ish)?

Scribblish

Have you ever played this game? Long before we ever got the actual Cranium Game, we'd play with just paper squares! If you have never played, you need to learn it! We've played with about 10 people before, and it is so hilarious!!!!

Here's what you need:
About 4 people- more is better, 3 is the least you can do.
Paper squares (we tear a piece of regular paper into 4 pieces)
A pencil for each person
Here's how to play:
1. Give each person as many paper squares as there are players. If you have 5 people, each person gets 5 pieces, if you have 8 people, each person gets 8 pieces, etc.

2. Everyone writes a sentence on the top piece of paper.

3. Each player passes their stack of paper to the person to the left.

4. Now everyone has a new stack of paper with a sentence on it. They look at the sentence, and then put the top piece of paper (with the sentence) on the bottom of the stack. Then they draw a picture of the sentence on the next piece of paper.

5. Everyone passes their stack, again, to the left.

6. Now each player has a stack with a picture on top. They look at the picture, and then put it on the bottom of the stack and write a sentence of it! Continue passing and drawing and writing.

7. When you get to the bottom of stack, it should be your sentence. Then lay them all out in order and see what changed!

This game is so much fun. One time we got from "Eat potatoes every midnight" to "The girl cried while the boy at a rock".
It is crazy how much things can change!!!!

This is the game with all the fancy tools- but really, all you need is pencils and paper!

A Favorite Pastime

I've decided it's time for another tutorial so I whipped up this idea. Ok I didn't actually I just took the pictures, movies, and edited them. So... let me rephrase that.
Lately my family has been talking about homemakers and today I was looking at Raising Homemakers (a blog) and decided I wanted to share something. So here is what I am sharing!
P.S. I forgot in the movie to tell you how to close up your potholder.
Once you have made a square, close up the seams by using a whipstitch.
It's very simple :)
My grandma taught me how to do this
and it is so very fun!
I hope you enjoy it too! :)

Check out raisinghomemakers.com and look at the Wednesday Link-Up- I'm #117!

P.S. again- I forgot to say- always use cotton yarn. It's thicker and better for kitchen use.

Nancy Drew hairstyle

I wish I could do this with my hair!! I tried it yesterday (alot of help from my oldest sis)  but all I got was a messy bun. With so much backcombing I looked like I had a lot of hair! :)
Here's the tutorial video:

TwoShirt Tshirt Tutorial- Re-use Remake!

I decided to do this because I had some old shirts and I was bored. I first showed the original twoshirt here. I decided to make a tutorial for it because I figured some of you might want to make your own!

First, start with two old shirts. I went to a thrift store and got some because I didn't have any of mine I wanted to cut up.

Cut the first shirt in half. You will only use half of each shirt, so usually I cut the piece I want a little longer. This makes the finished shirt longer and more modest.

I already told you to cut it.... haha... so here's another pic of the cut shirt!

Cut the other shirt. I was using the bottom half of this shirt so I cut it as the larger piece of the shirt.

Now you can see how it will look. But see how there is a little flap that is too long?

Chop it off!

Now cut down the sides of the shirt, starting under the arm and all the way down to the bottom of the shirt.

Unfold the bottom of the shirt. It will lay flat. Unfortunately the top piece won't lay flat.

See how it is laid against the bottom piece? Sorry you can see my arm's shadow haha :) You want the right sides facing each other, but since the shirt won't lay flat. But you can see the inside of the shirt here, so all you want to do is lay the shirt on top of the right side of the bottom piece.

Pin the pieces together.

Sew against the seams.

Keep unfolding the shirt, and yes, it will look a little strange, but it's not finished yet :)

Once you have sewn all the way across, turn inside out. You now have the top and bottom piece sewn together.

Ta-daa! We're almost done!

There's a little bit extra fabric here.

Just chop it off so it's even!

Now, turn the shirt inside out again, and sew up the side. I started from the bottom and went up to underneath the armpit. I haven't ever tried this with a long-sleeve shirt, I don't know how that would work... :)

Turn inside out. You're done! I love this shirt. This is a really great idea to use because if you like one shirt, but the top is really low, just cut it off and sew on a new, better one!

Feminine Fashion Week Day 3

My T-shirt shrug! Sorry about the messy background lol!

I was planning to wear a blue cardigan (click here to see it) but made this adorable shrug and went with it instead!
Ok so I should have cropped this one lol! I wanted a different background- what do you think? If I cropped the picture some, do you think you'd like to see more of the book background?
So sorry this is late! I'll make it up to you guys :)
Go to Ponytails blog and search for the tshirt shrug tutorial. I love it!
