Spring's Arrival

Today is so beautiful outside! I have two things I need to say:

1: Flowers are starting to appear! Mostly, it's green leaves, but the green is really catching my attention.

Flowers are popping up all over the yard. As of this minute, all my family is outside, and I yearn to be with them. I just want to write this down before I forget what I was going to say. 

Hard work! I embrace it (today at least). But the winter has made me flabby. I carried a box of wet leaves pretty much around the corner of our house and was breathing hard. Uhh..... all I can say is "I NEED TO EXERCISE MORE!" :).

As spring arrives, the arrival of something else has come too... 

It's crazy to write this, but I'm actually going to end this blog. I've contemplated about it for over a month now, and (to me) it seems like I've been much less connected with this blog. 

So, that said, I guess I should explain why.

Like I said, over a month ago I started thinking about it. I think God just put it in my brain, because I don't know why I thought about it. I had a blog a while ago and stopped it at a hundred posts. This one has (I think) over 300 and I know over 200. But I really just, stopped enjoying blogger. I'm going to leave my blog up so you can look at past posts or whatever, and I'll definitely come back and look sometimes- it's like a treasure trove of memories!

You might have seen in a past post that I am getting a chick and keeping it out at a friend's house this year. I will post again to show you a picture of my chick, and that will conclude this blog.

A Picture from the Files

This is a picture from... I think 2 years ago. Now we have more than a foot outside, with massive piles from the snowplow. Instead of a yard,we have gigantic lumps of snow! And since there was a freezing rain, we also have about a 1/2 inch of solid ice on top of about 7 inches of snow, with like 5 more on top of it. NEATO!!! (Wow... that was such a homeschooler thing to say.)

Speaking of homeschoolers, here's a video we found that is just hilarious!!!

Snow + Dressing for the weather

Snow : White Christmas

A storm blew in a few days ago.

AT LAST!!!!

White Christmas was not so white. We had like a cold Christmas with absolutely NO snow. We did get a few snowflakes before that, though! Just enough to enjoy 1 sledding trip down the hill before coming back inside.

But now, we're supposed to have up to 15 inches!!!!

The wierd white line in the background is a string of Christmas lights strung outside.

This is the same spot as the picture above this one- I love the glowing light on the edge.

I knit a scarf for one of our cats today...

Don't ask me why!

I just love playing with our cats.

This one didn't really like wearing a scarf.

But one of our other cats wore the scarf the whole day!!! She forgot it was on- but we joke that she left it on because she knew it was very stylish and she had been waiting all her life to wear clothes that complimented her complexion and made her beautiful. :)

(Hopefully I can upload some pictures of her wearing it soon!)

Vintage Fashion Week Day 2

I interupt my "copying a vintage picture" to bring you this exciting news...

It's Fall!!!

I know the calendar told us fall started more than a week ago, but today was the first real day of fall. It was cold- like jacket-boots-gloves weather. Yay!!!

So this is my fall outfit, which I am SO excited to be wearing!

I was SO cold without my jacket on!

It's really funny, because it's mostly green here, but the leaves are turning!

July 2011

I simply can't believe that it is already July, 2011. We're already half-way into the year... a little bit more than that actually! I still feel like, "oh, it's still kinda the beginning of the year, it's not halfway through yet..."

And since it hasn't reached the 90's here yet, (I think the record high so far this year was 82 degrees or something lol) I still feel like summer still is just beginning... but I've been on summer break for two months. (I finished early.)

So, what are you planning to do this summer? I've been thinking something like camping and more camping. :):):)

Picture to make you smile

The weather here has been really nice- for about a week it was non-stop rain (or at least it was wet most of the time, and then rained again) and just yestereday it hit 80 degrees! Not a cloud in the sky, sometimes. Today it's a bit overcast but I need that because it's cool and cloudy outside- after going up like 15-20 degrees, I could use the coolness!

Weather

Where I live you can expect winter snowstorms anytime from October to June. We have literally had snow in July. CRAZY!!!!

It can go from this...

To this.....

In a matter of days.

Then it will snow again.

It will be 75 degrees, t-shirts and barefoot.

But then we wake up to it snowing or hailing and a high of 30 degrees.

So I have to ponder upon the scientists and the people who have Ph.D's and diplomas and wonder...

How can they think that Global Warming is true?

Let me tell you my friend...

I'm not against it. I'm not taking Freedom of Speech to it's limits.

I'm simply expressing my opinion...

if it's snowing in July, I don't have any trouble thinking Global Warming is... um....global normaling.

Weather is normal as always in my sweet little town... and here weather is always unexpected. Then we expect it to be unexpected and expect that the weather is abnormal.

And I know that doesn't make any sense so I'll stop talking now.
