New blog design

I'm trying out a new design- what do you think? Is it too bland and boring? Do you like it or not? Is it classy and simple? Or plain... like eating paper?
Ok... I know this is really random but I figured I can't do a pictureless post. That would be bland. Like the blog background. :):)
So I hope you like it! If not, I like to experiment so tell me if you want some more COLOR!!!

Movie Review: Courageous

"One of the most moving films I have ever seen!"
Franklin Graham, President/CEO Billy Graham Evangelical Association and Samaritan's Purse

Courageous was amazing. There was so much talent in this movie, and so much meaning.

There was drama, emotion, and humor.

Starring Alex Kendrick Alex Kendrick

Courageous was an amazing movie. (Did I already say that?)

This film is about 4 fathers who realize the need to stand up, protect their families, and in a word, be fathers. Adam Mitchell (Alex Kendrick) and his three fellow police officers sign a resolution to be better fathers. They know that they will be doubly accountable because of this, but with God's help, they know they can do it.

One of the chase scenes

This movie is rated PG-13, so it's kind of intense. But it is touching and truly moving.
Let's see if I can tell you why without giving anything important away..

(If you want everything to be a surprise, don't read any further!)

One reason why this is PG-13 is because a girl dies. They handled this very well. They didn't even film it at all, actually. They were told that something had happened, and there's no anything showed. (No anything = very bad grammar.)

I think one of the big reasons why this was rated what it was is because of one of the last scenes- it is a police chase scene, where a little girl is involved, and lots of shooting. (No one is killed, though.) After the scene ended, my heart was beating about a million miles an hour. (I am not an intense-movie kind of person, but this was worth watching!)

I strongly suggest you watch this, even if you don't like sad movies. This movie is made wonderfully, and the whole story is amazing.

Mary

P.S. Since this is my first movie review, I know it's kind of badly written but hopefully you get the pictures. Speaking of pictures, all of them are from http://www.courageousthemovie.com/. Thanks!

You know you are a strange homeschooler...

when your sisters ask you to turn on song and you do.
and it's a Barbie song.
a Barbie Christmas song.

I feel like I should be wearing these:
Yup......

See you later and hopefully you don't all think I'm crazy (not that you didn't think that before or something) and now...
Oh wait.
My sister just told me to turn on "something about the sunshine" from that Disney movie.
No way....
Well, she was joking anyway. I hope.

Changing Things Up

So, I'm thinking about
changing the name
of my blog.

I haven't done that in a LONG time!!!

So, I need some ideas.
And I need you to tell me which name you like best.
Here are some ideas:

1. Exhilirate Creativity (or something like that)
2. Not-so-ordinary Ordinary
3. Life's a Beach (and I'm swimming)
or
Life's a Stage (and I'm singing)
or
Life's a Picture (and I'm speaking a thousand words)
or
Life's a Computer (and I have a virus)
Just kidding.
That last one is just a joke. Hehe. :):)
It's actually pretty funny.....
Well, that's all I can think of right now!

Have any ideas? TELL ME PLEASE!!!!
(Not that you should feel obligated but)
HELP!!!!

How can I be so creative when it comes to being creative or doing school but when it comes to being awesome or being creative I'm like "Hey, I think I'll be creative!" and then I'm not.

That doesn't make any sense.
(this makes me sad!!!)

Practicing Good Blog-havior

Oh, wasn't that witty of me?

Blog-havior: (noun)
To behave properly and speak fluently with grace on a blog.

Uh-oh...

I have failed the test!!!

I have flunked in the blogger department!

Here is my list of requirements I must meet to be a great blog. Thanks, Lucia!

1. Be Unique.
Hopefully I am unique. If you know anybody else in the world who posts exactly like me let me know.....:)

2. (basically) Use pictures, but don't use too many- or too little. Tons of squished font is really boring to read, but like, 25 pictures is too much for internet to load.
Oops.
This is my worst!!!
I hardly ever use my own pictures anymore.... it couldn't be because- *gasp* -I am lazy. So lazy that I don't feel like clicking the shutter button on my camera or editing them. OHHH the pain of clicking the computer mouse!!!!!
I promised you this pic a few posts ago- she'll wear this scarf all day unless someone takes it off her!

(P.S. From now on, I promise I will try my best to include the source of all the pics I get from the internet!!! If I don't, comment and tell me so I can fix it!!!!!!)

3. Use your own photos.
Oops again. I would promise to do at least 1 of my own pictures in each post... but I don't take pictures enough and you would get REALLY bored!!! So... I will try to be more creative. :)
Freezing rain = 1/2 inch of ice in the snow = pain when sledding or hitting your elbow (obviously personal experiences!)

4. If you can, comment on your commenter's blogs!!!
Oh, I've done this, ALL THE TIME!!
(Just in case you don't understand, that was complete sarcasm. Hehe.)
This is turning into the Bloggers Resolution List for me!!! Hey, (here's a brilliant idea) want me to comment on your blog? Every comment I get on this post, I will visit your blog and comment there!!!

5. Don't care too much about the numbers of followers you have.
Ok... I've cared about how many pageviews I've had- but I'm humbled when I go to someone elses blog, thinking "I have like 7,000 pageviews!!" and then I scroll down and their pageview counter says something like: 1,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000. :)
Lucia said, "Imagine if you have 10 people's attention- and they're just listening to you."
COOLNESS MAN!!! I have 30 people "listening" to me!

6. Bragging about what you have
A-hem.....forgive me, dear followers (of which I have 30 now..)
I never brag. I am a paragon of virtue to all bloggers.
AND I am not sarcastic at all.
(Oh, don't you believe it? :) I don't.)
(A paragon is a 100-carat diamond... or a good example.)

7. Have an eye-catching, easy-to-use design.
Excuse me while I go find a different design.

8. Be creative and change your blog around a bit.
I used to feel bad when I posted something other than vintage fashions... but seriously, how boring would it be if that's all I ever posted?!? That would be breaking rule no. 1, anyway. And I don't want to be one of those people who has a seperate fashion blog, writing blog, crafting blog, and photography blog, so I can do whatever on another blog. I have enough trouble posting regularly on 1 blog! :):)

So, here we go, friends!!! Let's change the world (or this blog) for the better! Let's shake up the old routine (or shake up the boringness of this post) and make a difference (changing font perhaps?)!!!!!

Mary

P.S. Remember to comment on this post- I promise to comment on your blog if you do!

A Picture from the Files

This is a picture from... I think 2 years ago. Now we have more than a foot outside, with massive piles from the snowplow. Instead of a yard,we have gigantic lumps of snow! And since there was a freezing rain, we also have about a 1/2 inch of solid ice on top of about 7 inches of snow, with like 5 more on top of it. NEATO!!! (Wow... that was such a homeschooler thing to say.)
Speaking of homeschoolers, here's a video we found that is just hilarious!!!
LOL!!!!!!

"Finding Nemo? Son, what have I told you about watching PG rated movies? Grab your Bible, we're going to Awana."

(Yes, I have been driving everybody crazy by saying this like twice everyday for like a week.)

Snow + Dressing for the weather

Snow : White Christmas

A storm blew in a few days ago.

AT LAST!!!!

White Christmas was not so white. We had like a cold Christmas with absolutely NO snow. We did get a few snowflakes before that, though! Just enough to enjoy 1 sledding trip down the hill before coming back inside.
But now, we're supposed to have up to 15 inches!!!!

The wierd white line in the background is a string of Christmas lights strung outside.

This is the same spot as the picture above this one- I love the glowing light on the edge.

I knit a scarf for one of our cats today...
Don't ask me why!
I just love playing with our cats.

This one didn't really like wearing a scarf.
But one of our other cats wore the scarf the whole day!!! She forgot it was on- but we joke that she left it on because she knew it was very stylish and she had been waiting all her life to wear clothes that complimented her complexion and made her beautiful. :)
(Hopefully I can upload some pictures of her wearing it soon!)

I totally forgot what I was going to post about....

So do you mind if I do something REALLY random? Like, supersuper random?

Well, I found this picture when I looked up a picture of a cat meowing...:) I can totally imagine my cat doing this!!!

I found this on Jesus Chick's blog. :):) I actually love broccoli (as does JesusChick) especially when covered in cheese. A lot of things taste good covered in cheese.

To end this post....

YUUUMMMM!!!!
So Kraft Mac and Cheese looks like AMAZING because I haven't had it in like MONTHS which is really sad but we are becoming "hippies" who don't own a microwave and store things in glass jars instead of plastic tupperware containers. (true story).

THE END!

P.S. Look at what I labeled this post.
Surprising?
