Nancy Drew's Closet Day 7

Well, it's been a very successful fashion week! I had so much fun dressing up and getting all Nancy-drewish. It really fits my life right now because me and some of my friends enjoy filming parts of Nancy Drew books, and this fashion week has really budged me to finish the books I'm reading! In the last week I have finished one Nancy Drew and I am almost done with another! Usually it takes me more than a week to finish one and now, POWIE! Haha!

I don't have any pictures of today's outfit... it's not interesting anyway, just an orange house skirt and teal polo shirt. :):):)

Nancy Drew's Closet Day 6

Today it was freezing... actually it was snowing!! Come on weather, I'm ready for spring! :)

Well, I nearly froze my tootsies off trying to get some good pictures...

my personal photographer (aka sister) was 'taking a day off' lets say and I had to fend for myself!!! *gasp!*

I just threw this outfit together this morning...hehe. I ran out of vintage clothes, sorry!! lol.

So this is modern Nancy.

The book (it was my first try) I took the cover off and put blank paper inside. Cool, huh?

Well the paper is really uneven but that's ok because like I said, it was my first try. :)

Ok... I've said it before but I'll say it again.

I love picnik.

SNOW????!?!? Lol. You can't really see it in this picture but it's there! :):)

I love taking pictures like these. Eyes are my favorite things to highlight in pictures because they have so much expression in them!!! And they are colorful. God must have made eyes not just so we could see but so other people could see our eyes! lol... does that make sense?

My favorite color of eyes is blue. From piercing grey-blues to aquamarines... but my all-time favorite is deep sky blue, so charming!!!

i am saying lol alot in this post. haha.

Only 2 more days of fashion week! I love these weeks. They are so much fun.

I like this picture because it's horizontal. It looks pretty cool to me!

Does this look vintage or wierd? Not sure...

This is the outfit I changed into after the photo shoot. It was so cute I had to post it too!

So the first photos were a mixture of a Nancy vintage and modern.

The last photo is definitely Nancy- Modern.

It looks like my dress is wool! It's not though, it just has silver strands woven through the fabric, giving it sort of a wool-look...

I made the clutch purse myself!

Nancy Drew's Closet Day 3

I hope you had a wonderful fantastic Sunday! I was planning to wear today's outfit to church but it happend to be a little bit too big... and I haven't had time to take out the hideous shoulder pads (ew!)!

So before we walk into Mystery World (that was about the lamest thing I ever said), I got the chance to visit with Sydney at My Walk with the King. Her little sis was being adorable (as usual) and I got some great pics.

This one I played around on Picnik with and got great results. So it was my second try at this whole 'part-colored' thingy.... i don't know what you call it. But isn't it a cute picture?

Now onto the outfit!

See what I mean when I say it's a little big? Just a tad wide from side to side...

(P.S. did you notice the outfit is the only thing colored in the picture? cool, huh?)

This is actually an outlet by the fireplace, and it's covered by a brick. Totally MYSTERIOUS!!!

*gasp* a brick comes out of the fireplace!

It happened again! Just like yesterday, when I logged in to blogger, 3 comments awaited me.

How exciting is that?!??! That means I'm gaining popularity! Lol. :)

It was SO windy outside today... so my skirt looks like wierd floppy shorts..

I liked Natasha's idea of fogging the background so I tried it myself. It worked awesome! My legs look like the have green hair sticking off the sides though... hmmm...

Since it was so windy I decided to head inside to get you some better pictures. Please excuse the messy background. :)

My skirt is actually green and blue plaid. It's dark colors though, and I think it's wool. (those two thoughts should not have gone in the same sentence.)

I am SO EXCITED!! I love Nancy Drew!

Nancy Drew's Closet Day 1

You know what's really exciting? logging into my blogger account and having 3 comments needing to be moderated!!

So I got creative with the post title but WHO CARES??? I am SO EXCITED because today is the first day of the NANCY DREW FASHION WEEK!!!!!!!! :):):):)

I had so much fun taking these pictures.

I also had TONS of fun shopping at thrift stores yestereday...

when I got home I was dissapointed because I felt like I hadn't gotten anything...

whenever I got home and sorted out all my outfits..

Oh yah, girlfriends. I hit the jackpot.

ok, sure that's just in my opinion. I'll let you decide for yourselfs. :)

I was trying to imitate Nancy on the cover of "The Hidden Staircase"... didn't go over to well.

LOVE how this picture turned out!

I figured out how to give pictures a sort of vintage tint!

So that's my outfit for today's Nancy Drew Fashion Week!

I didn't wear this outfit all day- unlike during my Feminine Fashion Week, where I wore most of the outfits all day long. I probably won't wear most of my nancy Drew outfits all day, for the following reasons.

1. They are not relaxed, house-cleaning outfits.

2. I got them from Goodwill and didn't have time to wash them yet. (lol)

3. The skirt I wore today was my sisters, and it's true vintage- and she doesn't want it to get dirty :)

4. The sweater I wore today was thick and heavy- come on, the sun is shining! I changed into a t-shirt and houseskirt immedietally following the photo shoot.

So I hope you don't mind that I dress up for the photos... lol. :)
