What's Up with Me: March 20th Want to Scribbl(ish)?

Scribblish

Have you ever played this game? Long before we ever got the actual Cranium Game, we'd play with just paper squares! If you have never played, you need to learn it! We've played with about 10 people before, and it is so hilarious!!!!

Here's what you need:
About 4 people- more is better, 3 is the least you can do.
Paper squares (we tear a piece of regular paper into 4 pieces)
A pencil for each person
Here's how to play:
1. Give each person as many paper squares as there are players. If you have 5 people, each person gets 5 pieces, if you have 8 people, each person gets 8 pieces, etc.

2. Everyone writes a sentence on the top piece of paper.

3. Each player passes their stack of paper to the person to the left.

4. Now everyone has a new stack of paper with a sentence on it. They look at the sentence, and then put the top piece of paper (with the sentence) on the bottom of the stack. Then they draw a picture of the sentence on the next piece of paper.

5. Everyone passes their stack, again, to the left.

6. Now each player has a stack with a picture on top. They look at the picture, and then put it on the bottom of the stack and write a sentence of it! Continue passing and drawing and writing.

7. When you get to the bottom of stack, it should be your sentence. Then lay them all out in order and see what changed!

This game is so much fun. One time we got from "Eat potatoes every midnight" to "The girl cried while the boy at a rock".
It is crazy how much things can change!!!!

This is the game with all the fancy tools- but really, all you need is pencils and paper!

What's up with Me Feb. 2nd

I can't believe it's February already!!!
(I'm still getting used to writing 2012 on school papers.)
I'm reading this:
Nancy Drew #14 The Whispering Statue
Published in 1937.
If you want to read this I strongly suggest you make sure what version you are getting. A friend of mine read the 1970's version and it was a very different story. But the 1937 version is great! There are no "ghosts" or "noises" or unexplainable unearthly things... I love it! It's one of my favorite ND's.

This is sitting in front of the computer.
We were going to watch it a few nights ago, but decided against it because we weren't in a mood to watch something like that. (We still want to watch it, of course, but you know how somedays you want to watch like the Andy Griffith show or I love Lucy or something like that? Lol!)

I love these fruit bars.
I have a sore and swollen throat- so I get to eat these. Hehehe. I don't actually mind being sick except it hurts to swallow... and breath.. etcetera, etcetera, etcetera. (Yes, we watched The King and I last night. :) I would like that movie better if it was shorter, and if he didn't die at the end. Hehe.)
And I reeeaaaallly want these.
CREAM FILLED!!!!! AHHHHHH!!!!!
Who cares that a filling of sugar and milk and probably other unusual items is not good for you? I bet it tastes good. I bet I would eat the whole box. Heheheheee.

Last but not least( or most... I don't get that saying)

(This is dedicated to some special people- Jesus Chick, SMK and family, KZ, and RZ.)
JUSTIN BIEBER PERFUME!!!!!

I'll give you a few seconds to try and figure out if I'm joking or not.

I'm not.

Oh, did your heart stop?!?!?
(Because you were laughing so hard you couldn't breathe?)

I remember "back in the day" when my and all my chums would laugh about him... so we were repeatedly told "God made Justin Bieber too, don't make fun of him." So somehow we started making fun of Bustin Jieber. And joked about how we liked "Bertha Lieber". Yuuuuuup.

I have on question to leave you with:
Why would Justin Bieber want to make a perfume that is pink and purple called "someday"?

My Answer: Because he thinks girls will like it (in turn like him) and "someday" I will laugh at it. Oh wait. I already did.

Wow, what a beautiful ending to end this post with! Filled with all the vegetables of Spirit! (I couldn't say Fruit because sarcasm, teasing, and laughing at someone isn't a fruit. Hehe.)

FOREVER YOURS:
(cough-cough-giggle)
Mary
P.S. To those whom I dedicated the last section of this post,
thank you for understanding the wierdness. :)
Yours truly, the wierdo over at Life's a Stage.

What's up with Me November 10th

Hey everyone!
To make this a little more fun, I'm going to make a list-
lists are always fun. :)

1. Fall has nearly passed here because with our first frost far behind us, everything is this color: Brown.

This is a shot I took before it snowed... yes, it already snowed, but only like .04 of an inch and it already melted...:)

2. Wishing my life could kind of look like this:

1910 via www. chickenimages.com

3. I'm really into little peekers in the background....like this one.
I love that you can see the two cats, but it's focused on the one.

Two cats again! As you can tell I was in the mood for taking cat pictures...

This has gotta be my favorite! I think it's because the tortoiseshell (Cali) is always in wierd places and wierd positions, and the orange tabby (Sunny) my cat, is always just sleeping or eating. :)
That's pretty much it unless I can include

4. I want it to snow, but I can wait until Thanksgiving! (maybe....)

5. I wish I could live somewhere where I could even fathom having a garden that grows something other than zuchinni and where we could own animals (think: cows, horses, pigs, chickens... the general farm norm!)

6. I am so excited that I have been able to act lately- and that my performance is soon!

7. Looking over wishlists and thankful lists makes me feel like this: Ungrateful. Grateful! Ungrateful. Grateful! Lol!

8. If I can get this list to 10, that is a good stopping place.

9. I'm really into making videos right now and adding sound effects.

10. Stopping point!

Do you ever feel like one of those people who never finishes their sent

What's Up with Me: September 1st

Raise your hand if you like apples!
Sometimes I wouldn't raise my hand. But other times I would.

One time that I would raise my hand is when I bite into a delicious Pink Lady apple.

Another would be a juicy red apple. One of my reasons for liking apples is when you bite into them and delicious spurts of watery apple juices appear. Ahhhh.

Another reason I like apples is because I love to make pies. Actually, I love making pie crusts. That's why it's so handy to have a friend who loves making pie fillings. Yay for SMK!!!!

This looks DELICIOUS!!! (is that like the most frequently used word in this post?)

But probably, my utmost favorite thing of all about apples is one word.
Orchard.

Apple picking.

Fall arriving.

September means that Autumn is coming. And we have to farewell summer. Schoolbooks are opened, rakes are brought out of the shed and dusted of cobwebs, and socks and jackets are pulled out of drawers and closets. Everyone feels refreshed by the crisp, golden moments in Fall. And everyone is waiting for that first precious snowflake.
At least, that's how it is around here. It gets to the fourties or thirties, like, the first day of autumn. Then we wait for snow. I don't know why. Maybe it's because no one really enjoys hanging out in the crisp, cool Autumn feel whenever it's actually 34 degrees with a biting wind. No, thank you!
I do enjoy the moments before that. In, say, the 50's, with a chill in the air, peppermint tea-hot chocolate waiting for you at home, and leaves are golden, trees are bare, and OH I can't WAIT for Autumn to really be here!

What's your favorite season?

P.S. I really like this quote over at Danielle's blog.
God's "no" is not a rejection. It's a redirection.

What's up with Me: August 24th... and Australorps??

Read it.
Love it.
Want it.
By Jenna Woginrich

I read this and instantly:
POWIE ZOOM!
I want backyard chickens.
Call me strange....... and yes, please pardon the fact that this is a the farthest thing from a fashion-y vintage-y post on this fashion-y vintage-y blog, but I just wanted to share with you.

These are Black Australorp chicks.

Full grown Australorp:

This not-so-cute Ameraucana chicken is pretty fun.
Ameraucana chick:

It's also known as the "easter egger". Can you guess which egg belongs to this gal?
Isn't that great? These hens lay green, blue and even pink eggs! AWESOME!!!

Now, I just have to convince everyone in my surroundings that this is a great idea. I have this $150 plan to make it work- the chicken coop makes up 2/3 of this, sure, but it's a starter coop, and actually quite a good price. I want to get 2 or 3 Black Australorps, and of course, I'd get the day old chicks. SIGH!!! Raise your hand if you also want to join me in holding brand new balls of fluff that make my breakfast! :) Lol.
Really, I think having chickens would be a fantastic experience. And I doubt that I will ever be able to stop having chickens... that is, if I actually start having chickens.
(thinks to self: Slow down, girl. Don't jump to step ten when you have yet to even confirm you will be doing step one. Hehe.)
Ok ok... I think God is teaching me patience, sisters!

What's Up with Me August 14th

This pretty much explains how normal our cats are.
That's not a stuffed animal up there....
If you had to decide what level of sanity my family is at, don't come at 9:00 because that is the time we are all... kind of crazy. Sisters poking each other in the stomach and laughing so hard they hurt does not look.... normal. Unless you live at my house. :)
So that's what's up with me today.... actually that whole poking-tickling scene was yesterday but the mood transfers to today... because the first thing me and my sis did today was get out the cookbooks and read all the recipes, choosing what sounded good for breakfast, like muffins and casseroles etc.etc.etc. Then we got out leftover lasagna and heated it up.
Sound normal?

What's up with me July 26th * Blogger of the Month * SURPRISE for you!!!

So to start off my update, I'll show you what I did Sunday Morning:
Ok.... I traced it. :) But it was still fun!

My hollyhocks are blooming!

I tend to them and weed them (sometimes) and water them (a little bit).... :)

The sprinkler was on and was spraying my Tree...and fred

The leaves shimmered with water droplets! It was gorgeous.

Then I happened upon our chest of dress-up on the back porch. They are used for movies made with my friends and plays put on the stage, but they used to be worn out for playing! Me and my sisters would spend hours in these. These are all gunnysax dresses- I love them! They are the best dresses. I didn't realize it until later, but they are hanging up, L to R: Longest to Shortest. :)

And now,
I am pleased to announce the Blogger of the Month!

1. She's sweet
2. She is poetic
3. She is a wonderful photographer

4. Her name is......

I'm thrilled to tell you that you are this month's AMAZING blogger!

Now, Ladies, I have surprise for you!!!
Raquel and I have been planning this for quite some time now...

So, get ready to participate in our new challenge
In Another Day
Now, here's what this challenge is all about!
The week of July 31st-August 6th is when all participants will start.
During the week, participants will write from a different perspective. That's the most important part of the challenge to understand. So during the week, you'll write like you're a different person! You could pretend like you are a princess stuck in a tower, or a famous singer on tour in Paris, you could be a girl from the 1940's writing in her diary- whatever you want! Your blog has just turned into a creative outlet!

Rules and Regulations:
1. Keep it clean! If your posts have bad words or the like in them, they won't be entered into the contest.
2. Participants have to post at least 3 times during the week challenge to be entered in the giveaway for prizes.
3. Participants will link up their post at Raquel's blog.

Now here are your goodies!

Beth's Polymer Pens is sponsoring one of our prizes! Here are some of her pens:

Aren't they cute! You will be receiving a pen- I don't have a picture of it because it's still in the process of being made. Be sure to give a big thank you to Beth if you drop by her store!

The next prize is from Sweet Little Things 4 U! You will get a scrabble pendant of your choice!
Here is my favorite pendant:

Here are some more of her necklaces.

Be sure to check out her store!

There will be another, more formal post about this closer to the beginning of the challenge.
Have a great day and please excuse the largest post I think I've EVER done!

What's up with Me July 3rd : The Return of a long-lost Party

So I'm calling it a party because I don't know what else to call it. It's like the Questionitas- they aren't on a certain day, but I do them multiple times. :):) They're like a weekly thing that isn't scheduled. Speaking of that, I need to make a button for Twosday Favs but I don't have a Mr. Linky Tool so no one could link up.... hehe.
Let's dig into the history of the What's up with Me segment.
It used to be called What's up with Mary Minship but I decided all of you knew my name so there wasn't really a good reason for it to contain my name in it's name. Uhhhhh that was kind of confusing.
What's up with Mary Minship November 3rd 2010
What's up with Mary Minship November 19th 2010
What's up with Mary Minship November 30th

And I just looked and I posted 32 times in January....32!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! GAAHHHH!!!! That is scary. But I did do the Feminine Fashion Week that month, along with I think my first follower- so I kind of exploded into constant posting I guess.

Since the Fourth of July is tomorrow and all sorts of family-ish things are happening, I don't really want to spend any time on blogger at all tomorrow. But I have to set that goal so it will happen because I get on almost every single day to check blogs and comments and stats and stuff. So I think I'll will take a week off like I did in January. But it's not as dramatic. The reason why it was so dramatic when I first did it was because I had been getting on... let's just say I had been getting on multiple times a day. Lol :).
So I guess I'll see you all next Sunday and have the most fantastic July Fourth you possibly can!!!!!!

What's Up with Mary Minship Nov. 30th

Well, I've created a new line of books- Simply called My Book. They are blank books you can write, doodle, ect.ect.ect. in! I have also published one My Diary. Click here to go to my store. The Books are at the top. I got that writing bug i wanted. Well, halfway. It sort of came, and it kind of died. I've been half-heartedly writing. Now that the snow is about a foot tall, I should probably get something soon. :) Love you all, and keep reading!

What's Up with Mary Minship- Nov. 19th

The snow is so beautiful- even if it does only stay until the afternoon! I've woken up to gorgeous sparkling white the last two days- hopefully tomorrow is the same! I also hope it sparks a writing bug in me. Lately I've been a little slow in writing. I wrote a bit of Winifred's Hopes, the sequel. It's a great book so far- I hope I can keep it up!
So, I'd like your opinion. Should I finish writing the sequel to Winifred's Dream? I have some other great books I could work on, but I'd like to please you guys. Comment please!
Here's a look at Winifred's Hopes. Someone is getting married... Winifred is a junior bridesmaid, as well as her best friend, and everything seems to be going wrong. What will happen?

What's Up with Mary Minship- Nov. 3

Hey everyone, it's Mary here! Lately I've been enjoying the autumn colors and expanding my knowledge of useless words.... a.k.a vocab in school. Why do I have to learn what extraneouss means?
Ok, well, I guess I'm not too sad, because a lot of my vocab words have been useful :)
I think I start too many books at one time, because I have- oh, I don't know- a MILLION books started that either I don't feel like finishing, or I don't feel like writing at that time. One is about a young girl who has no friends- except an old lady whom the whole town calls Crow. When Crow dies, the little girl visits the house in the woods often and tends to the garden, and her pets, two parrots.
I haven't finished any more haha.
:)
Leave a comment if you want me to finish that, or tell you about more stories.... or anything :) haha
Bye!
