Published in 1937.

If you want to read this I strongly suggest you make sure what version you are getting. A friend of mine read the 1970's version and it was a very different story. But the 1937 version is great! There are no "ghosts" or "noises" or unexplainable unearthly things... I love it! It's one of my favorite ND's.

We were going to watch it a few nights ago, but decided against it because we weren't in a mood to watch something like that. (We still want to watch it, of course, but you know how somedays you want to watch like the Andy Griffith show or I love Lucy or something like that? Lol!)

I remember "back in the day" when my and all my chums would laugh about him... so we were repeatedly told "God made Justin Bieber too, don't make fun of him." So somehow we started making fun of Bustin Jieber. And joked about how we liked "Bertha Lieber". Yuuuuuup.

Why would Justin Bieber want to make a perfume that is pink and purple called "someday"?

My Answer: Because he thinks girls will like it (in turn like him) and "someday" I will laugh at it. Oh wait. I already did.

Nancy Drew - From Now.... or then?

It seems like the most popular Nancy Drew is this one:

The, shall I say, *NEW* Nancy Drew. Stylish, a bit vintage, classy..... but not my kind of Nancy Drew. Especially not the hair. I mean, not that I have anything against this actress, but she's just nothing like Nancy Drew. She makes an awful Nancy Drew. That is.... oh, I'm so bad at explaining these things.

She makes an awful original Nancy Drew, because she's nothing like the original 56 books.

Make sense?

Well... I might be confused now. Lol.

Do you prefer this Nancy Drew?

Cute and sweet, but in my opinion the shows were a little....dumb. Cheesy, I suppose. Not enough intuition and Nancy Drew-ness in figuring things out.

In my personal opinion, the best Nancy Drew is this one:

Nancy, George, and Bess, the trio who solve case after case together, catching crooks and figuring out the hardest puzzles.

I love how this cover captures the moment when they solve the case- but they are working together as a team. It's not all NANCY DREW in her fame and glory!!!! She's just an ordinary girl.

Nancy Drew's Closet Day 7

Well, it's been a very successful fashion week! I had so much fun dressing up and getting all Nancy-drewish. It really fits my life right now because me and some of my friends enjoy filming parts of Nancy Drew books, and this fashion week has really budged me to finish the books I'm reading! In the last week I have finished one Nancy Drew and I am almost done with another! Usually it takes me more than a week to finish one and now, POWIE! Haha!

I don't have any pictures of today's outfit... it's not interesting anyway, just an orange house skirt and teal polo shirt. :):):)

Question: Did you enjoy seeing my fashions as I participated in the Nancy Drew Fashion Week?

My Adventure in Nancy's Kitchen

Today I got out my Nancy Drew Cookbook and had a cooking adventure!

First I made Twisted Candles Peach Crisp.

The recipe is from one of my favorite novels, the Sign of the Twisted Candles! :)

I drained most of the peach juice in the sink but dumped the peaches on a wire cooling rack and let the rest of the juice soak through. I dried of the peaches mostly by patting them with paper towels.

I mixed together the ingredients for the crisp part, and decided to leave some butter chunks in it. Butter chunks are soooo yummy.... :):) (like this post if you agree!!)

The recipe didn't take many ingredients, and it was super easy to make. The hardest part was letting it bake for 50 minutes!

I added the peach juice that dripped into a pan beneath the wire rack to make it more doughy.

I covered the peaches with the yummers!

Next I made Souffle Gruen. It's actually more like a queiche.

The ingredients! This doesn't look nearly as appetizing as the crisp but if you're not in the sweet mood the finished result is what you care about!

I served the crisp with peach ice cream. Surprisingly, peach ice cream tasted nothing like the canned peaches!

The quieche was good too. Not as good as I thought it would be, but hey, I guess back then they put eggs in milk for a treat!! (ew!)

So that was my adventure in Nancy's kitchen. I learned 2 things.

1. I love Twisted Candles Peach Crisp.

2. Souffle Gruen doesn't taste as good as the crisp.

I love cooking. A lot of times I'm not in the mood, but when I am, I'm in the kitchen doing it! Haha.

P.S. If you have the cookbook and are making the peach crisp, I forgot to mention that I changed the recipe some. It doesn't say to add peach juice to the crisp topping but I did. :) That made the brown sugar caramelize!! Yummerz!

Nancy Drew's Closet Day 6

Today it was freezing... actually it was snowing!! Come on weather, I'm ready for spring! :)

Well, I nearly froze my tootsies off trying to get some good pictures...

my personal photographer (aka sister) was 'taking a day off' lets say and I had to fend for myself!!! *gasp!*

I just threw this outfit together this morning...hehe. I ran out of vintage clothes, sorry!! lol.

So this is modern Nancy.

The book (it was my first try) I took the cover off and put blank paper inside. Cool, huh?

Well the paper is really uneven but that's ok because like I said, it was my first try. :)

Ok... I've said it before but I'll say it again.

I love taking pictures like these. Eyes are my favorite things to highlight in pictures because they have so much expression in them!!! And they are colorful. God must have made eyes not just so we could see but so other people could see our eyes! lol... does that make sense?

My favorite color of eyes is blue. From piercing grey-blues to aquamarines... but my all-time favorite is deep sky blue, so charming!!!

i am saying lol alot in this post. haha.

Only 2 more days of fashion week! I love these weeks. They are so much fun.

I like this picture because it's horizontal. It looks pretty cool to me!

This is the outfit I changed into after the photo shoot. It was so cute I had to post it too!
