God is SO good!!!!

Now you may have all heard that I really have been wanting to......
Tap dance.

AND a few nights ago, I was confronted (that's kind of a big word lol) and I suddenly realized that I might NOT be able to. Physically, I might not be able to. This wasn't something that I was just WAITING to happen. I wasn't just hoping that I would come across the right size and then, ta-daa, I could take lessons.
I had engraved in my mind that I was going to be able to do them.
But the truth was, I might not.

So, lying on my floor in deep thought (don't tell me you never just lay on your bedroom floor- lol) I remembered that just the day before my sister had given something up to God- and just hours later was given an answer. I gave it up to God. I don't know how to give things up to God, I had never really had to before. But I did, and I knew that God would help me give it up to him.

That night I went to my first tap dance lesson.

I feel amazing! Sure, I'm a bit sore but I should be, that's normal.
Give it up to God and get answers!! Lol! Lesson learned!

Praise God from whom all blessings flow...

Bored.....

The Umbrella
A beginners poem of lame made-up-on-the-spot rhymes

An umbrella has a use
to keep the rain from off our backs.
But when the rain stops and the sun shines
this weather has something that lacks.
An umbrella can be useful to shade of from those rays
and remind us of those cold and rainy happy days.
So I thank you for listening to this odd and lame poem
And I will end this poem as awfully as I began.
The End.

So you may realize I am bored. Counting days until I can go camping... well hopefully I can go camping soon. But I don't know if I will be able to. SO....anyway, whatever.
I am bored. That is a fact.
But not bored enough to chores. *wink*

Dahlias and other Flowers

Here's just a little something for you to laugh at.

Questionita5

Do you love to dress vintage (like I do!) but never actually get around to wearing, buying, looking, or dressing vintage (like I do)? :)
I would just LOVE to walk down the street like this every day.

New Story

I'm working on a new story- it's a Rapunzel Redo. I'll show clip-its and snippets of it if you'd like but even if you don't say particularly that you'd enjoy it I'll probably put some up anyway because I like to share my work. ;):) winky.
This is like my rapunzel. She is lonely but in the story she is not all alone....
and also Rapunzel is not the Rapunzel you'd think her to be. Now I've confused you and you'll have to read the snippets I post to understand! ;)

Alright... her hair is awesome but I don't know about the movie. I haven't seen it but I've heard that her hair is sort of... magical. In a review on the movie, it says...

The power of the magic flower and Rapunzel's glowing hair is said to have been derived from a drop of pure sunlight. It makes her hair near sentient, and it's used several times to either heal or rejuvenate.

Rapunzel sings an incantation to the magic flower to unleash its healing properties: "Flower gleam and glow, let your power shine/Make the clock reverse, bring back what once was mine/Heal what has been hurt, change the Fates' design/Save what has been lost, bring back what once was mine."
A dam breaks, trapping Rapunzel and Flynn in a cave that quickly fills with water. Flynn receives a gash on his hand from a sharp rock. And in the film's most intense scene, Flynn is stabbed by Mother Gothel. She stands behind him and we don't actually see her plunge the dagger in, but we do see her pull back the blade as he crumples to the floor. We're shown a red stain on his shirt.

[Spoiler Warning] Flynn appears to die from the injury, but he's magically revived. And Mother G withers back to her true, ancient age—falling out of a tower window and literally disappearing as her cape smacks the ground below in a puff of cloth and dust.

I don't know what to think. I know the movie has a lot of positive elements, but if it has any amount of those hidden magical things, I don't want to be a part of that. The Bible says to keep our hearts pure, and feeding ourselves on Disney movies is not biblical. Sorry to say, but I won't be watching the newfangled, awesomely-animated Tangled.

That brings up another thought. I feel left out of all this commotion about Tangled, and I'm getting mixed feelings because everyone says how fantastic it was. But how can a movie be fantastic when it's filled with magic? It could very well be the values of the person watching. My family does not celebrate halloween, we don't have any fairies or witches or mermaids in our house, and strangely enough, we won't be throwing our bouquets at our weddings because it leads back to how witches would choose their next leader.
It really is our values- we have some barbie movies because we babysit alot, and we had to get rid of some of those because of the magic. It's not the magic in the movie, it's the magic itself. It's... well, please don't be offended but I'd like to express my opinion here. Magic, to our family, is satanic. There's no biblical stand for magic. Miracles are a different story- they are from God. They don't just happen because of a 'drop of sunlight' or something.

Well, thanks for listening to my blabbers and please tell me what you think about Tangled. I'd love to get some second opinions about it after you've read the information about it.

God bless,
Mary

Slowly.....

I have 15 followers now! For a long time I had 13- and then one day, 14. The next, 15. So it's going slowly... considering I think I started this blog in May last year. Or maybe August. Idk. Anyhew, just to let you know, we got a new computer. It's a Microsoft Office 2010 version... which is completely different than the Microsoft 2003 we've had since... well probably since 2003. Lol. So if some of my posts are getting computer-gooked or anything please excuse the mistakes.... I really am just trying to figure out the whole thing. So.......yup! That's it! Have a great Saturday.
Love y'all.

I've got a hankering...

and you know me, I'm a really wierd person so I like food. Not that liking food is wierd but the fact that I've been up for an hour and now I feel like eating cheese.
I am wierd and I am oh so sorry I have to unload all this 'cheesiness' on you. (lame pun intended.)
Yummeroodles!!!! Now don't tell me you don't like cheese. Unless you are like lactose intolerant or something.

And crackers? (commonly known as saltines in this household) One of my favorite things. Light and crunchy and salty. And good.

And I'd wash it down with my favorite drink ever.....

Just water. But it's yummy and good for you.

So if you'll excuse me I'll go be the wierdo that I am and eat cheese and crackers and water for breakfast and maybe some leftover spaghetti.

THE END!

God bless,
Mary

Randommmm......

Don't you just LOVE rummage sales???? I DO!!!!!!!!!!!!! We went to one lately and I found some goodies...

BUT first of all I would like to show you something I made- it was a big accomplishment for me because I can't usually sew big things- it took me a few days to do it with my grandma, but I did it!

My crazy-9 patch!

Rummage sales always turn up with something amazing tucked away inside them.

Just a few weeks ago I had been looking at these online:
Square dancing dresses by Entwife on http://www.etsy.com/.

They are just the most adorable square dancing dresses, and I was dying to get my own. The price wasn't right though- nearly 30 dollars a dress. I couldn't do that, especially since I didn't know if it was the right size.

But God likes to spoil me, I guess, because look what I found at the rummage sale...

YAYY!!!! Along with this, I found a purple one (pictures to come soon) and the crinoline to go underneath- making the total price come to.....

$5.00 BUCKAROODLES!!!!!!!!!

Don't you love the yard-saling season?
Yours truly-
Mary ☺

Picture to make you smile

The weather here has been really nice- for about a week it was non-stop rain (or at least it was wet most of the time, and then rained again) and just yestereday it hit 80 degrees! Not a cloud in the sky, sometimes. Today it's a bit overcast but I need that because it's cool and cloudy outside- after going up like 15-20 degrees, I could use the coolness!
See you later!

Old Movies Rock! Part 2

My Favorite Old Movies:

I love all these movies immensely, although my top-top favorites are Seven Brides for Seven Brothers (I know I've mentioned that four billion times but if you're new, you know now!), Singin' in the Rain, The Harvey Girls, and Easter Parade. None of them are even the teensiest bit more than the others because I just love them all SO much!!! If you haven't seen these movies, they are clean and very worth watching! I grew up seeing Seven Brides for Seven Brothers and I have to say, even if you don't like old movies, you'll like this one. Me, I love old movies. I especially love Fred Astaire, Jane Powell, Ginger Rogers, Bing Crosby, and just this year I've fallen in love with Judy Garland. It took me a while to get used to her because she's not the typical broadway star, but I love her! I especially like her in Easter Parade, because it has a scene about the Zeigfeld Follies.... how I would love to see a Zeigfeld Show. But alas, they are no longer because Mr. Zeigfeld passed a long time ago.... those golden years are over. boohoo!!!!!!!! Lol :).
Please excuse that ginormous paragraph of old-movie-blabbers.
Have a great week!

To start your day off right:

Well, not to make fun of anyone who does this in the morning but these are two ways of getting up and starting the day:
1. Roll out of bed, pull on some frumpy clothes or a robe, start the coffee maker and read the newspaper.
2. Roll out of bed, stay in your pj's, eat breakfast, lounge around, get dressed, do some chores here and there....
Well, I used to think No. 2 was the good one, the one I made a ritual... but now that I wrote it down, it ain't lookin too great.
But I do know the absolute best way to start your day, no matter what your style is.

{Psalms 107}

{Proverbs 21}

{Proverbs 30}

Start your day off right- talk to the Father!

Old Movies Rock! Part 1

Well, I was browsing the internet today and surprise, I found something out about the wonderful Singin' in the Rain Movie.
When Lina Lamont (Jean Hagen) sings "Singin in the Rain" at the end of the movie, you think that Kathy Selden (Debbie Reynolds) is singing for her.
And the curtain comes down, revealing Lina Lamont was not actually singing.

Or was she?

CAST LIST:
........
"Debbie Reynolds as Kathy Selden. Early on in production, Judy Garland (shortly before her contract termination from MGM), Kathryn Grayson, Jane Powell, Leslie Caron, and June Allyson were among the names thrown around for the role of the "ingenue." Yet, Director Stanley Donen and Gene Kelly insisted that Debbie Reynolds always was first in their mind for the role.[3] Although the film revolves around the idea that Kathy has to dub over for Lina's voice, even in the talking scenes, it was actually Jean Hagen's normal voice. Reynolds herself was dubbed in "Would You?" and "You are My Lucky Star" by an uncredited Betty Noyes.[4] Also, when Kathy is supposedly dubbing Lina's voice in the live performance of "Singing in the Rain" at the end of the film, Jean Hagen is actually dubbing Reynolds' speaking voice.[5]

Isn't that strange? It makes the movie all the more interesting to watch, knowing that Debbie Reynolds voice was played by Jean Hagen/Lina Lamont!!

:):) Happy Weekend!
